Synopsis

ON THE JOB While jogging, Selina is approached by a pair of her neighbors, Joel and David, handing out flyers to find their dog, Bentley, who is the fifth dog to go missing in a week. Ivy leaves for her first day at as Director of Biochemical Research at S.T.A.R. Labs Gotham, using her powers to get a taxi for free. Selina worries that Ivy's job might bring attention to their hideout. Harley begs to go out looking for the missing dogs and Selina agrees to go do it in plainclothes.  Ivy (using the alias Dr. Paula Irving) starts at S.T.A.R. Labs by using management advice from Lex Luthor to win fear and respect. She does his by firing the long-time researcher Dr. Simmons and his team despite her personal respect for him. She's backed up in her decision by the mesmerized Dr. Raymond. Ivy gets right to work in the biology lab.   Selina and Harley have no luck on canvasing for the dog, not even seeing any after three hours search. They follow the sound of barking to find a pair of East Side Dragons attempting to cage a dog in an alley for their dog-fighting ring. Harley rushes in before Selina can call the police. The pair subdue the thugs with the help of the dog. Taking him home, they find Harley's hyenas Bud and Lou holding two dead dogs and a adjoining lot full of skeletons. Harley admits to not locking up the two when they sleep on her bed. Finding the remains of Bentley's collar, Selina and Harley deliver the bad news to Joel and David (pinning the blame on the Dragons) and give the dog they saved to the couple. Selina demands Harley donate the hyenas to the city zoo.   At the lab, Ivy is lured into and trapped in a industrial strength dehydrator by Dr. Simmons' assistant Alisa Adams. After Adams could find no reference to a Dr. Irving, she deduced Ivy's true identity and is planning to get her revenge by starting the machine.
